Veterans of Foreign Wars Grant Farmer Post 992 Commander Trina Parrish pulls double duty, also serving as the post’s bingo games manager.

As the primary fundraiser, proceeds from bingo games cover operating costs at the site at 102 N. Colville St.

Games are played on Mondays and Tuesdays, Trina said in the post’s July newsletter. Early bird bingo starts at 6:15 p.m., followed at 6:30 by the regular session. “The more who play — the more we pay,” she said.

Volunteers to assist at the event are always in demand, whether one night per month or more as schedules allow. The post can schedule helpers’ times.

In addition, the aging bingo equipment is breaking down and some of it needs to be replaced.

Lorena Garanzuay has accepted the gavel as 2018-2019 VFW Auxiliary president.

“We would like to see more members attend the meetings and would appreciate more volunteers for events,” she said in the newsletter.

She stressed the auxiliary membership of men and women serves the post in whatever capacity is required.
