The 15th annual Wallowa Tunes Fiddle Camp will be held at the Wallowa (Ore.) School from July 7-12, sponsored by the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance, wvmusicalliance.org.

The week-long, small, inexpensive and family oriented music workshop focuses on traditional string instruments. Those classes are $200.

There is a special discount for families of four or more.

The community may join them for a public, country family dance on July 11 for which some workshop participants provide the music.

Classes are held in the elementary wing of Wallowa School, core classes from 9 a.m.-noon, and electives in the afternoon, July 8-12. Plenty of time is allowed for practice and jam sessions.

Classes are now accepting registration.  For non-fiddlers, class choices include morning music class for kids ages 5-11. Non-fiddle classes include mandolin, banjo, upright bass, beginning and intermediate guitar instruction as well as a vocal class — bring your voice and instrument of choice  — instrument is optional.
