Longtime local bluegrass group RyeGrass String Band will reunite for an evening of picking and singing from 8-10:30 p.m. Fridayat Bontzu Cellars, 127 E. Main St.
“Yes, we’ve learned some new tunes over the last four decades,” said singer and bass player Glenn Morrison.
He said local dancers will join them for a couple of Romanian folk tunes they will play in honor of the owner of Bontzu.
For this performance, the group will also include Trudy Ostby, Bruce Deleonard, Jimmye L. Turner and Jon St. Hilaire.
“Help me celebrate my birthday weekend,” Morrison added.
RyeGrass first played on First Avenue next to the BeeHive building in 1977. They played off and on at Merchants Ltd. on Main Street from the late 1970s to early 1980s.
“We played many Main Street concerts before and during renovation,” he said.
