PRESCOTT — The 2018-2019 Sherwood Trust Community Leadership class has organized the first free Touchet Valley Spark in the Park community fair and street dance from 1-8 p.m. Saturday in Fields View and Plaza parks.

The Sherwood Trust offered the leadership class in Dayton this year to serve the greater Prescott, Waitsburg and Dayton communities. 

The goal is to spark community connections with family-friendly events that bring together Touchet Valley residents from all walks of life, according to a release.  

Nonperishable food and monetary donations will be collected for Blue Mountain Action Council, 

Prescott Library will present the winners of a youth art contest with a $100 prize.

Events: 

1-4 p.m. Fair at Fieldview Park with street vendors and community resources. Dayton Kiwanis will provide free hot dogs. LifeFlight will land a helicopter for kids to check out. 

1-4 p.m. city of Prescott Pool will be open.

2-8 p.m. Portions of D Street will be closed.

3-4 p.m. Chiquillas Ballet will perform at Plaza Park on D Street showcasing the community’s Latino culture.

4 p.m. through evening Prescott Lions Club will offer meals for purchase.

5:30-8 p.m. FrogHollow Band will provide a free performance for the community street dance.
