DAYTON — Tickets go on sale this month for the Summer Cultural Enrichment Program and Liberty Theater, 344 E. Main St., which is again offering the Missoula Children’s Theater.
The weeklong acting workshop and performance camp for kids, from Aug. 5-10, culminates in two performances at the end of the week. This year kids will be featured in “Pinocchio,” with shows at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10.
“MCT sends an army of young adults, many with arts and theater degrees, around the country for summer tours, helping children discover the magic of live theater,” Ferrians said.
“The families of the Touchet Valley and beyond look forward to MCT each year in Dayton. In fact, many have come to see it as an indispensable summer activity.”
Preregistration is recommended, and the program is limited to 60 participants. Chances to preregister will be from 2-5 p.m. July 30 and Aug. 2 at the Liberty, 344 E. Main St. Final registration and auditions will be 9:30 a.m. Aug. 5.
“The costs of the MCT visit have gone up slightly this year, but we have already received the welcome news of a grant award from Columbia County Children’s Fund — one of many funds entrusted to Blue Mountain Community Foundation,” Ferrians said.
The summer program is aimed at children ages 6 through sixth grade, youths and families. For ticket details, see libertytheater.org, or contact Ferrians with other questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 509-382-1380.
