PORT ANGELES — West Coast League North Division skipper Darren Westergard of Port Angeles, and South head coach Brooke Knight of Corvallis, announced their probable starting pitchers for Tuesday’s WCL All-Star Game.

Westergard tabbed Wenatchee AppleSox’s Curtis Bafus to start for his squad. Bafus is 3-3 with a 2.72 ERA over seven appearances and six starts this summer.

The right-hander from Woodinville, Wash., has struck out 43 over 43 innings pitched, and only walked nine batters.

Knight is giving the ball to Corvallis Knights right-hander Landen Bourassa, who is 4-1 with a 2.55 ERA. He’s made five starts and logged 31 2/3 innings pitched this summer.

All-Star festivities begin today, with the Saltwater Splashdown home run derby at 6:35.

The Splashdown will have batters hitting into the waters of Hollywood Beach in Port Angeles, at a rope anchored 300 feet offshore in the harbor.

The Walla Walla Sweets have Zack Penrod taking part in the Saltwater Splashdown.

The WCL All-Star Game is set for Tuesday at Civic Field in Port Angeles. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.

The Walla Walla Sweets have infielder Nick Nyquist, outfielder Cesar Lopez, and pitchers Darius Vines and Penrod on the South roster.
