TOUCHET — Visiting Colton broke open a close game with seven runs in the third inning and finished off Touchet with nine more runs in the fourth to claim a 19-1 Southeast 1B District baseball victory here Tuesday afternoon.
A duo of Wildcat pitchers — juniors Jon Bean and Jackson Meyer — combined on a two-hitter and Kian Ankerson collected three hits to lead an 11-hit Colton offense.
Bean, Druffel and senior Luke Vining had two hits each for the Wildcats. Zac Jaggar and Evan McMakin were credited with the Indians’ only two hits.
Touchet’s season and league record dipped to 0-9. The Indians host St. John-Endicott Friday in an 11 a.m. league doubleheader and face the Eagles again the following Wednesday in a 4 p.m. single game in St. John.
Colton, which improved to 6-1 in SE1B play and 9-4 overall with Tuesday’s victory, hosts Pomeroy Saturday in an 11 a.m. league twin bill.
