MOSES LAKE — Dayton-Waitsburg’s softball team secured a berth in the state tournament as the second seed out of District 5/6 with two victories at the District 5/6 Class 2B Regional tournament at Paul Lauzier Athletic Complex here on Saturday.

Dayton’s and Waitsburg’s school boards had agreed to begin as one athletic unit with the start of school this coming fall. A public meeting in Dayton on Nov. 29 revealed most people were in favor of the action, district officials said then.
