Project description: Application for a 2-lot short plat within the Walla Walla Urban Growth Area under the residential density waiver in Walla Walla County Code (WWCC) 17.18.050E.  The total acreage of the contiguous tract is 1.00-acre; both lots would be 0.5-acres.  According to the application, the lots would both utilize individual wells.  The application states that the lots would utilize individual on-site septic systems but that the applicant has two sewer “stub” connections from the City of Walla Walla.  Lot 1 contains a detached single-family dwelling unit (1355 Shelton Road) and Lot 2 contains a barn (no residence).  The site is located generally at 1355 SHELTON RD (APN 360728440079), in the R-72 zoning district.  The area is located within or adjacent to the following mapped critical areas: geologically hazardous areas (seismic hazard area with moderate to high liquefaction susceptibility) and critical aquifer recharge area (ten-year time to travel).

REVIEW PROCESS AND PUBLIC COMMENT:  The decision on this application will be made by the CDD Director. The comment period for this project is fourteen (14) days from issuance of this notice; this period ends July 18, 2019.  The notice of application is required by RCW 36.70B.110 and Walla Walla County Code (WWCC) 14.07.080.
