its local Doppler radio service will be down for the next week for maintenance and improvements, starting Thursday, June 10. Weather activity will continue to be monitored via satellite, surface observation, lightning monitoring and by surrounding radars. The upgrade, the final step in a four-part nation-wide project, is expected to extend the life of Doppler weather radars into the 2030s, officials said.
