COLLEGE PLACE -- Long-serving City Council member Larry Dickerson died Saturday, city Mayor Harvey Crowder said today.

Details surrounding the death were not immediately available. Dickerson had served on the City Council since 2000 and would have been up for election this year. 
In a release, Crowder praised Dickerson's service to the city.
“Larry has been a thoughtful councilor and friend to me, City staff, and the City Council; he will be greatly missed," Crowder said
He went on to say Dickerson's "knowledge, vision, and guidance has materially improved the quality of life and infrastructure of the City of College Place.”
The city staff and City Council, Crowder said "send their heartfelt condolences to Mr. Dickerson’s family and friends. They are in our hearts and prayers."
