Walla Wallan Dana Evans, a Baker Boyer vice president and credit administration officer, has been selected by American Banker as one of the "most powerful women in banking.”

Evans is considered a rising star in the banking industry nationally.

American Banker is a Manhattan-based trade publication covering the financial services industry.

The local woman is one of just 15 women selected for the award that recognizes females 40 years and younger who demonstrate exceptional leadership and make achievements in banking and financing.

Evans also received an endorsement from a senior executive as part of the application requirement.

“It is an honor for me,” she said in a statement. “I am very flattered.”

American Banker noted Evans’ great work on pandemic-relief loans and her efforts rewriting Baker Boyer’s lending policy.

Evans was an attorney before working in the banking industry and joined Baker Boyer in 2016.

Outside of work, she is the current president of the Exchange Club of Walla Walla.
