CASES: Global — 972,640 confirmed cases as of this morning, 50,325 deaths. U.S. — 239,279 confirmed cases, 5,443 deaths. Washington — 6,585 confirmed cases, 262 deaths (state’s numbers as of Wednesday). Oregon — 826 confirmed cases, 21 deaths. Walla Walla County — Eight confirmed cases (five in College Place, two in Walla Walla, one in Burbank/Wallula), 435 negative results returned, no deaths, two recovered. Columbia County — One confirmed case. Umatilla County — Five confirmed cases. The Benton-Franklin Health District has changed how it’s reporting COVID-19 cases. Benton County — 130 confirmed cases, 37 probable cases, nine deaths. Franklin County — 41 confirmed cases, 15 probable, no deaths.

  • Pendleton Cattle Barons Weekend set for May 1 and 2 at the Pendleton Convention Center and Pendleton Round-Up grounds has been canceled and will be rescheduled for 2021.
  • The city of Walla Walla has revised its Sudbury Landfill hours. Landfill access for essential businesses and local and state government entities is 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Public access, which should only include essential items, is 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays with social distancing measures observed.
