WESTON — The family of Michael Newbold, 16, said they have been inundated with community support after the Weston teen was killed Tuesday morning in a rollover wreck on Wildhorse Road. However, they would like some time to grieve.

Newbold’s great-aunt Kathy Birdsell told the U-B on Wednesday the family is asking for space during their difficult time and requested that people not have vigils on the family’s property. Memorial service plans will be announced when they are finalized, she said.

“The family is having a hard time with this,” Birdsell said. “It’s a little overwhelming.”

The crash at 2:40 a.m. also injured the driver, Logan Foster, 18, of Weston, and a 15-year-old girl.

Foster was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, while the girl was flown by helicopter to a hospital, officials said. No additional information on their status was available.
