MILTON-FREEWATER — Milton-Freewater Unified School District officials have scheduled a community meeting for June 11 to discuss building and campus security at McLoughlin High School.

A focus will be on a proposal to create a modified closed-campus system that allows some students to leave school for lunch periods under set criteria, Superintendent Rob Clark said today.

“It’s not just about a closed campus,” he said. “It’s about changes in the parking, going from one to two lunches and having campus security on site.”

The hope is people will come ready to voice their thoughts and concerns on the topic of campus safety, officials said.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Mac-Hi, 120 S. Main St. For more information, call the district at 541-938-3551.
