A Walla Walla man was injured and his girlfriend arrested Friday night when he fell off the hood of a moving SUV, driven by said girlfriend, on Bellevue Street.
Police said Mariha L. Falconer, 34, of Walla Walla was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and DUI at 9:46 p.m., after she and her boyfriend, Brandon D. Corriell, had gotten into an argument and he fell off the pair’s SUV.
She appeared in court Monday morning and was released on conditions.
The two had been dining and drinking at Pacific Express Asian Bistro, records stated, when she tried leaving for their home on Bellevue Street. Corriell jumped on the hood of the Ford Explorer, records stated, because “he did not feel that she was sober enough to drive.”
Falconer told police Corriell “has a history of preventing her from leaving when they are in an argument,” records stated. Falconer said she drove slowly on a nearby alley, about 50 feet, when Corriell got off the hood. She then turned sharply and accelerated to leave, but realized Corriell jumped back on the hood and slammed on the brakes. He then fell and was injured.
Medics took him to the hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries and Falconer was arrested.
