Former Walla Walla residents Foster and Vicky Morgan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with daughter Teresa Morgan, all of Kennewick, while on a cruise around the United Kingdom.
“We decided not to renew our vows as we agreed what we had said to each other 50 years ago has worked. So why mess it up?,” they said.
The couple wed at First Congregational Church in Walla Walla on Aug. 17, 1968.
Born in Walla Walla to Gordon and Phyllis Walters, Vicky graduated in 1967 from Walla Walla High School.
Foster’s college schooling and work in construction management took the Morgans to several locations over the years. They lived and worked in Ellensburg, Kennewick and Monroe, Wash. In 1984 the company sent the Morgans to Casa Grande, Ariz., followed by a move to Denton, Texas, and lastly to Henderson, Nev., where they lived for 15 years. Foster retired in 2006.
After selling their home in Henderson, for the next seven years they traveled in their RV, wintering in Arizona and performing volunteer work in the summers as well as visiting family and friends in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Canada.
In 2013 they bought a home in Kennewick near where daughter Teresa Morgan lives. They continue to spend winters in Arizona, returning to Kennewick in the spring.
They enjoy gardening, fishing, canning and camping out across the state.
