Here’s a shout out to friends Chef Michael Corvino and wife/co-owner Christina who will host Marty Clubb, co-owner and managing winemaker of L’Ecole Winery No. 41, Lowden, for a winemaker dinner on Tuesday at Corvino Supper Club & Tasting Room in Kansas City, Mo.

Several Walla Wallans, myself included, can attest that dining at Corvino’s is an epicurean experience not to be missed.

Michael will prepare a five-course menu specifically tailored to wines Marty will feature. L’Ecole was founded in 1983, the third winery established in the Walla Walla Valley. L’Ecole grows 100 percent of its grapes and is known for bordeaux blends, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, chardonnay and more.

The restaurant for the last three years running has held an AAA 4-Diamond rating. Michael garnered semifinalist status as Best Chef Midwest by the James Beard Foundation in 2018 and 2019.

Michael grew up in Walla Walla and while still a teen worked as a sous and banquet chef at The Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center. Michael graduated from Walla Walla High School in 2000 and earned an associate degree from Walla Walla Community College. He is the son of Joe and Carolyn Corvino of Walla Walla.
