Young philanthropists at Willow School will be downtown Friday to raise funds that will benefit Blue Mountain Humane Society.

The dozen sixth- and seventh-graders are learning to bake and cook on Wednesdays through a cooking club offered by Willow kitchen manager Heidi McFarley. They will offer for sale their baked cookies, brownies and dog biscuits from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday at Land Title Plaza, 33 E. Main St.

Willow School science teacher Joelle Pomraning said the benefit is a special project where students learn about philanthropy and fundraising.
