Horn Rapids Park/Plant ID workshop and wildflower walk in Benton County, WA
Bitterbrush blooming above the Yakima River in Horn Rapids Park
The Columbia Basin Chapter of the WA Native Plant Society invites you to join Janelle Downs for a walk up the stabilized dunes to see wildflowers and shrubs blooming. Handouts and hands on instruction on common plant identification will be included. April is Native Plant Appreciation Month and the theme this year is on native pollinators, so we’ll keep an eye and maybe a camera out to look for insects that are visiting the wildflowers.
Following CDC guidelines, please bring a face covering in case it’s needed. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and dress for the weather.
Meet at Horn Rapids Park on Hiway 225. Turn to the left after entering the park and proceed to the first parking area/restrooms on the right. At this point in time we can only take the first 15 people who sign up by emailing sagejld@aol.com
