The Little Theatre of Walla Walla 2018-2019 season begins with Spamalot: The Musical on November 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, and 24.
Spamalot is a musical comedy, adapted from the 1975 film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” with book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez. The show’s original 2005 Broadway production, received 14 Tony Award nominations, winning in three categories, including Best Musical.
A highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend, Spamalot incorporates many scenes nearly verbatim from the original film, makes many references to other material in the Monty Python canon, and steals outright one song from the 1979 film “Monty Python’s Life of Brian.” Broadway musical fans are also treated to many spoofs and references to other musicals.
The cast of Spamalot includes: Kevin Wayne Loomer (King Arthur),Eric Rohde (Sir Robin),Daegan Acevedo (Sir Lancelot), Daniel Rose (Patsy), Nathan Loomer (Sir Galahad), Eric Sams (Sir Bedevere), Rande Moss (Lady of the Lake) and Dan Lovato (Supporting Actor). The chorus includes: Lola Bloom, Bradley Nelson, Velia Saldivar, Athena Shurtleff, Sara VanDong, Abigail Wissink, and Daniel Wuest.
Spamalot is directed by Brian Hatley assisted by Stacie Trego, and produced by Barb McKinney with permission of Theatrical Rights Worldwide. Please note: this production contains immature humor.
