Frog Hollow RC Hobby Shop is making a jump to College Place, along with Binder Sign & Design.

The two established businesses are moving from Lowden to 335 N. College Ave., where they will share space. Owners Scott and Rose Binder say the new location is more accessible to customers and provides room for future growth. The official opening is scheduled for Oct. 1.

HILLHOUSE
The building most recently served as home to College Place restaurant Train Station 335. Before that it was Bailey's Cove & Coffee.

Binder Sign and Design, opened 12 years ago, offers commercial signs, lettering, decals, graphics and more. The 5-year-old Frog Hollow RC specializes in radio control hobbies, including airplanes, cars, boats, helicopters and more.

Both businesses will operate seven days a week. For more information call 525-4461.

Call it a case of mistaken identity.

When Banner Bank announced employees will volunteer to paint the home of LaVonne Reser for the company's Paint the Town event, some local residents got confused as to why the well-known owner of multiple properties was chosen for the program that helps lower income seniors and the disabled with their home maintenance.

The answer: Walla Walla is home to two LaVonne Resers.
The Maple Street resident whose home will be painted by Banner employees this weekend is LaVonne C. Reser. She had been confused with LaVonne L. Reser, who owns numerous properties throughout the community and makes her own home on Last Chance Road.

Mystery solved.

Skylite Cellars hosts its first Hiney Hoedown this weekend.

From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday the winery will celebrate its signature Hiney Wine, named in honor of the "The Hiney Winery" made famous 25 years ago as a comedy feature broadcast on more than 600 radio stations across the country.

The event will feature complimentary Hiney tasting, a show by featured artist Michael Stockdale who created the Hiney Wine labels, a barbecue lunch by CrossRoads Steakhouse from noon to 2 p.m. and collectable Hiney Wine gift packs for sale. The barbecue is $7.

Music will be provided by Oldies 92.1 with a remote broadcast from KVAN Radio.

Wines by the glass, horseshoe pit, games and giveaways will also be part of the festivities. The winery, owned by Tom and Cheryl Hodgins, is located at 25 Campbell Road off U.S. Highway 12. For more information, call 529-8000, or visit: www.skylitecellars.com .
